DS is tall and thin. Not DQd by DoDMERB for weight, although under. (Sent letter from doc saying he’s healthy, has no underlying issues.) A letter was posted on USMA portal this week saying he needed to get taped. Is this normal to not have a DQ and need to be taped? If he comes under the accepted BMI, what happens? Thanks everyone!

DS has to do the same and he’s squarely within standards. It literally takes 5 mins if just measurements.

Facts =

1. DoDMERB does NOT get involved in Service established BMI standards. DoDMERB only pursues and/or DQs, where there “is/may be” medically associated issues with an excessive/deficient BMI.

2. Services deal with BMI, where there are no medically associated rationale administratively, not with medical personnel. This IS a Service prerogative based on their authorities over appearance, fitness, etc.
