After my DoDMERB exam but prior to my appointment to USNA, I got a tattoo. It is below my ankle and is very small (less than and inch long) and unnoticeable. It meets all the Academy's tattoo requirements. It is a stick and poke tattoo and will likely fade away in a year. It has already faded significantly and will be even less noticeable by the beginning of plebe summer. My biggest concern is that it could reject my appointment. Should I report it, and how would I do so? If I don't report it, what are the implications it could have at I-day? I know that the Navy recently changed their tattoo policy, so any advice from those who recently attended or are attending USNA would be helpful.

If you got an appointment, you have a required form where you report any tattoos that you have.

It meets all the Academy's tattoo requirements.
If, in fact, this is a true statement then you have nothing to worry about. You will need to report it though so they can make that determination.

Absolutely report it. The trouble begins when you don't report it. If they use the same forms for incoming as they do current Mids then it takes five minutes to fill out.
