It's too early for me to worry about this but I was just wondering what would you do for recommendation in you weren't taking an English class at college?
I won't be able to apply until I get citizenship during sophomore. Or junior year in college. The school I'm looking at is a college of pharmacy where courses are dedicated to becoming a pharmcist. In freshman year there is English class but during sophomore year the courses are focused on science and math so most likely won't have an English class

Since the admissions require a recommendation from your english teacher, do you just ask the professor that you had in freshman year?

I'm not sure what you mean because the school I'm looking at has a 7 year program, not a graduate school
After 3 or 4 years you can continue on to pharm D or just get a degree like normal college and go to a different grad school

Ah, that was not clear in your first post. In any case, you still need an English class just like the admission site states and your first year professor would be the one if you are applying between your college freshman and sophmore year. If you are not appointed and will be attending a second year of college, it would be best to contact the Admissions dept of the Academy and ask them if you need a second year of English as a sophmore before you start school.

kl3661, I was sort of in your shoes this year. I'm a college freshman MechE major and I didn't take a English class this year. Actually never with my major. However, at my school we have to take 18 credits of mandatory humanities over the 4 years, and some of them are sort of similar to an English class, since we had essays to write. It's the closer thing I have to an English class. However, Admissions did tell me that I had to use my HS senior year English teacher, which was sort of annoying because he's very anti-military. Anyway, I got him to write a letter of rec. for me.

Good luck with your school!!

Thank you to both. I'll try to have an English elective the year before I apply.

Mdn18 good luck with your school or application to USNA
