Looking to get an idea of how many cadets are going Tech...

So this is a real simple survey...

AFROTC 200/250 cadets... Are you Tech major or Non-tech major? And if you are Tech. What is your major?

My DS is Tech - Civil Engineering


Cooking beef livers for my dogs....had to come up with a good reason to stay out of the kitchen for awhile!!

Also I thought it might be worth it to note that most of the 200s in my det are going tech. I think only 3 are going rated and maybe 4-5 non-tech (out of 16). Well I guess it's understandable since we're at an engineering school.
 
My guess what be at least 50-50, maybe more because of the idea that going rated will give an edge for SFT.
~~~ I have to be honest, what scares me is that the cadets don't understand the rated board system, You can put pilot as number 1 and ABM as 4, but if you get ABM than you are going ABM. You don't get the option of saying re-board me again, or go non-rated and two years later re-try for UPT.
~ At least that is what our friend's DS that now CSO told me.

I know for our DS's det. 13 cadets got rated. 11 pilots, 1 CSO and 1 RPA. Out of the 13, 6 were non-tech. The CSO was tech (eye issues). Thus, 50% were non.tech that went UPT.

For those wanting to go rated, beware of PCSM 2.0. Flight hours matter a lot now.
 
Its been a few years since I was an AS200, but our Det had about a 75/25 split, favoring tech majors. But then again we were and engineering school.
 
Non-tech Economics going for rated.

When my commander asked me if I was going rated she stated that if I was going rated I would be applying for all of the rated positions. It used to be that a cadet can choose just one rated position and if they don't get it they are allowed to become non-rated but since PCSM 2.0 rolled out the rated board changed so that any rated candidate has to apply to all of the rated positions.
