Thank you, SAF

@Jarhead713 - Just repeating what has already been said. Life is about overcoming obstacles and this will be one of many. You have shown true grit and tenacity in your posts. Keep the faith, harness your inner fire and go follow your dreams. I am hoping you get good news on the 3rd Board. Ole Miss would be lucky to have you.

Best of luck brother. You will succeed down south more than you would have at USMA, believe that! Trust the process!

You are the best! I am glad we connected over these forums. I am sad to see the DQ for you. You deserved this appointment, and a scholarship. I know you will get one this 3rd board. Good Luck and stay in tough. I am still on the wait train:/

Dangit you'd better come back here at least to read all your well-wishes.
I'm back, and couldn't be happier.

Thank you all for your well wishes, they meant a great deal to me.

There's more than one way to skin a cat (32 according to my cousin, Bradley) and there's more than one way to become an Army officer.

Dream didn't die, just one of MANY doors closed.

Good to hear from you.

I have looked on the other side of a few of the several doors that have closed in my face and have seen that it was a good thing I didn't enter.

Things usually work out for the best.

I look forward to being able to call you a fellow vet one day, no matter which door and path you take. :tank:

I totally agree, one of the reasons Garth Brooks' song "Thank God for Unanswered Prayers" resonated so much for me

Hey man, don't worry about it. I to was rejected by USMA, not once, but twice! Here's the deal. West Point was never the goal, becoming any Army Officer is. Don't loose sight of that.

A funny story that I like to replay in my head when I think about this situation (of being rejected) is the overnight visit I had to West Point this year via LOE, as a college student. Early in the day I was with my Plebe in some of his classes, this one happened to be advanced math. As I sat there and watched, and took notes, I noticed a girl to my left struggling with an equation. It just so happened that I had already covered this lesson in my college math class. So as the class died down, I leaned over to her and told her what she might've messed up on that was causing her to struggle. I was correct, shockingly. I laugh about this because that's why West Point kept rejecting me, ACT math score was too low.

Goodluck man.
