I posted this thread in th Introductions section but wanted to be sure it was read by the Air Force posters. My son is a candidate for the USAFA for 2013. I have been reading this forum for a month or two. It has been a great tool for answering many questions that we have had. He is currently in the waiting position and has just been updating his resume with current information from his senior year. He has a nomination and met all other requirements. After reading the many threads regarding scores and grades I can see he is in the hunt. Now I guess we just wait and see what happens in the next couple months. His football season ended in late November and he is currently wrestling for a couple more weeks. Then he can catch his breathe and focus on the remainder of his senior year. Thank you for all the great info.

Lots of good info here as you say. Another site that may have more information for you if you have specific questions is http://www.usafacommunity.com/forum It is only cadets and parents at USAFA and prospective cadets and parents. I've found it pretty useful. There are lots of folks there (many also on this site) who have been through all these things we parents are going through and willing to share their experience -- to ease our pain! I was in your position a few weeks ago before my son received his appointment. He wanted it so bad and I just wanted him to be happy with his choices and the decisions he needed to make over the next couple of months for college. Thankfully, our wishes were granted and he received his appointment. My best wishes to you and your son. I know the waiting is difficult. Good Luck!
