Thank you

Less than 12 months ago I had no idea that the Naval Academy existed, but somehow they found me. I am glad to have found this forum with so many caring and knowledgeable people(Yes, Dr.Mom I have a follow-up for those shots). Waiting it out in CPR is not fun and a few minutes ago I just received an e-mail from the USNA. I was accepted to NAPS in Rhode Island. Could someone please tell me the pros and cons of NAPS? Thank you.
my son went there . It was tough but he loved it . If your an athlete make sure this is for you. he will be back this summer as a detailer . Its kinda like a officer that will teach you and drill . You will have to join the naval reserve before you go . if you have any other questions just ask

Congrats. Yes it's a golden ticket. More importantly it's a focused year of academic prep that will set you up for success at USNA. You will learn college level time management with the demands is military obligations and physical requirements in an environment less stressful than Plebe Year. You will be welll prepared for Plebe Year. You will also be able to adapt to life away from home and making appropriate adult decisions prior to your actual Plebe Year. It's a year where you make good money. You pocket much more than you will Plebe Year. Make a ton of friends. If USNA and being a Naval Officer is your goal, you have been handed an amazing opportunity.
did you go to naps ?

Congratulations! I think you have a wonderful opportunity ahead of you. I was hoping that my daughter would (athlete) receive an appointment to NAPS but NAPS doesn't have her sport. She was asked to consider a Foundation school instead (at $55,000 per year). Celebrate! And Happy Birthday!

My DS wants NAPS as well. The time with the football team and easing into the lifestyle appeal to him. He would jump at the chance to go direct, of course, but he's more than willing to spend a year preparing.

Congrats to you Trackgirl1999, take the NAPS, my son did not get that offer. And lots of college degrees are expanding to 5 year requirements. Enjoy RI!

Thank you. I am seriously looking into it. I see the positive and very little negative with NAPS, so I think I will go for it. Your son's journey will be great with a supportive mother like you!
