Even though Air Force had a bad day on Saturday; and lost to Army; it was a really great day. Started off at the tailgate with a lot of wind, but in time in mellowed out. We had a great turnout; over 300 visitors. A lot of Army and Air Force friends; along with our regulars. We had a special presentation. Presentation of the first annual Thudgate John A. Chapman Service Before Self Award by John's mom Terry Chapman to Major Barry Crawford. In attendance, we had the Secretary of the Air Force; Air Force Chief of Staff; Commander AFSOC; and many other dignitaries. Everyone even joined in and sang "God Bless America". It was a very special time. You can visit the "Thudgate Facebook Page" for more details. It was great to see many of my friends again; some long time and some forum friends. Also great to see my brother Steve (Flieger) again. A very thank you to Shane and the Service Academy Forums for your contributions. There was a whole Pig (Cooked of course) delivered. It was outstanding. Service Academy Forums are a regular contributor to our parent's weekend and our inter-military commander in chief trophy games. So even though we lost; (Congrats Army); it was a very emotional and thankful day. And we are always grateful to all the men and women who have served; are serving; and at the academy/rotc who will be serving soon. We still have 2 more home games left. Next Saturday night against Wyoming and then Thanksgiving saturday against Utah State. Hope to see you there. Thanks again to Shane and the Service Academy Forums members and supporters.
