Even though Air Force had a bad day on Saturday; and lost to Army; it was a really great day. Started off at the tailgate with a lot of wind, but in time in mellowed out.

We had a great turnout; over 300 visitors. A lot of Army and Air Force friends; along with our regulars.

We had a special presentation. Presentation of the first annual Thudgate John A. Chapman Service Before Self Award by John's mom Terry Chapman to Major Barry Crawford. In attendance, we had the Secretary of the Air Force; Air Force Chief of Staff; Commander AFSOC; and many other dignitaries. Everyone even joined in and sang "God Bless America". It was a very special time. You can visit the "Thudgate Facebook Page" for more details.

It was great to see many of my friends again; some long time and some forum friends. Also great to see my brother Steve (Flieger) again.

A very thank you to Shane and the Service Academy Forums for your contributions. There was a whole Pig (Cooked of course) delivered. It was outstanding. Service Academy Forums are a regular contributor to our parent's weekend and our inter-military commander in chief trophy games.

So even though we lost; (Congrats Army); it was a very emotional and thankful day. And we are always grateful to all the men and women who have served; are serving; and at the academy/rotc who will be serving soon.

We still have 2 more home games left. Next Saturday night against Wyoming and then Thanksgiving saturday against Utah State. Hope to see you there.

Thanks again to Shane and the Service Academy Forums members and supporters.

As usual, Mike (CC) said it beautifully! It was a HUGE turnout at Thudgate! It's always an interesting place when you see my HS classmate Mike Simler (Thudgate Guru) speaking with distinguished guests like were there on Saturday. How often do you see a tailgate attended by the Secretary of the USAF, the Chief of Staff of the USAF (my classmate, got a great picture of us) and several 3 and 4 stars?! And the SA Forum donation was amazing as always!! I could go on and on...but Mike said it perfectly!!

A great gathering of great people!

Thanks to Shane, Mike, and all the others!!!

My DS was there on his Official visit that weekend (Track & Field) he was able to attend the Tailgate with his Track Host and most of the game. He said his visit was "Life Changing" everything was absolutely better than he could have even imagined it would be. It was a bummer Air Force lost (my husband and I paid to watch the game on TV, since we were unable to make it on his visit) but a great game. He sent me some pics and I almost yelled at him for not fixing his hair! He said, "Mom the winds were close to like 40 MPH that's my best windblown gel look." :)

Have to say thank you for everyone's contributions to the forum. We have gained lots of great knowledge and insight. He signed his Unofficial Letter of Intent on Wednesday and has very high hopes to be at the Prep School next year!

He's not a high jumper is he? Because if he is, we might have met at the hotel.
