SNAFU should always be included! FIGMO is another. It means "Finally I got my orders" or "F*** I got my orders" depending upon duty station.:thumb: Don't forget Gunny Highway in "Heartbreak Ridge". It is a CF.

Just posting this because I learned this acronym today. I went in circles trying to get AT&T to take my son's phone off line while he is deployed overseas without having to dig up his orders. I ended up training two Customer Service Reps about information from the AT&T website.

Hope this link might be helpful to some of you. If you are in the service, it is interesting to do a search on your name. Tip - Use the current date (default) for the status date.

From AT&T website - Eligibility requirements
You must meet all of the below requirements in order to qualify for military cancellation under the Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA). If you have any questions or concerns, call us at 800.331.0500 or 611 from your AT&T wireless device for more information:
  • You're going to basic training, boot camp, or active-duty deployment, transferring from base-to-base, or you're in the Reserve/National Guard and called to active duty.
  • You're transferring to an area without AT&T service. Check AT&T Coverage map. (If your account address is in Minnesota or Wisconsin, you are exempt from this requirement.)
  • Your name is listed in the Department of Defense database as an active member of the U.S. military (not a contractor or a civilian working for the military).
  • If your name doesn't appear in the Department of Defense database, you must provide your military orders to AT&T via fax, email, or by mail (USPS) within 14 calendar days of the cancellation request:
    • If you need to fax/mail military orders, call us at 800.331.0500 or 611 from your AT&T wireless phone for further instructions.
    • If AT&T doesn't receive your orders within 14 calendar days, your service is canceled and your wireless number may be lost. If your service is under contract, an Early Termination Fee (ETF) will be assessed.
  • Your account must be in good standing and you must agree to pay the latest bill.
  • Your AT&T service contract was in effect before you received your deployment orders.
 
Is there an old to new list? For example BDU --> ACU, Advanced Camp --> LDAC (sortof), FTX ---> LTX

What does 3Q (or is it Q3?) mean? I saw it too many times yesterday but can't find it today to cite an example, but I think it has something to do with actually issuing(receiving) the appointment. Or maybe not. I saw "Q3" or "3Q" often used when talking about MOCs and appointments, usually in the context of time of year, too.
What's it mean?

Triple Qualified (3Q) - scholastically (academics/ACT/class rank, leadership, sports, etc) , medically (DODMERB), physically (CFA)
