Navy wins. . . AGAIN

Navy has clinched the Overall Sports Series against Army with a 19-15-1 (.557) overall record during the 2023-24 season (there are at most 3 losses remaining for either school). Navy has won the overall series against Army 48 times in the last 52 years.

The Mids also won the Star Series Presented by USAA 14-11-1 (.558) this year, moving to 40-4-2 against Army over the last 46 years.

So Army has won the annual all-sports competition a whopping FOUR TIMES in the last 46 years.

Why is Navy so much better than Army? It's not like Navy really seems to trade academics for better sports outcomes (based on SAT scores.)
 
They are better at football too, just not the last few years .......

And baseball ........

126 -118 - Navy leads.

Those are the "not rich kid sports." Any more questions?? :p

Hmmm, how much do personal training and travel leagues cost for those sports? Plus, West Point does not cut its plebe summer short for football players. (at least they didn't when I was there)

A lot of the outstanding high school football players in my area go to MULTIPLE football camps every summer. And they ain't cheap either.
My son was a pretty good track athlete in High School and it literally did not cost me a nickel. No personal trainer. . . no extra stuff.
Both he and I lettered at USNA in what is often called a "Rich sport" but I got my start in a free program for the underprivileged town where I lived. My son had less background but had a coach at home who gave him a little advice.

I was just bored so I stirred things up a bit. It takes a lot of work to play Div I sports, no matter what support you get. USMA 85, Parent USNA 2027.
