The Bird has left the building.

Supposedly, they did get him back. They found him in Down Town Shreveport. Saw him late in the 4th quarter.

He probably realized that it was a lot warmer there than in Colorado Springs, and figured he could make a break for it.

Well, it finally happened! One of the falcons flew away while practicing for the Independence Bowl.

We used to joke about it at almost every game...now it happens and I missed it! :yllol:

For those who didn't catch it:

Oh but it's NOT the first time...

The Japanese zoo in Tokyo used to have a former USAFA falcon...it flew away, went to sea, landed on a freighter, and was sent to Japan.

It happened Parents week this year too. I think that was the new bird's first crowd appearance though.
Its amazing they got him back in Louisiana. Can you imagine being the guy who's job it is to "go find the bird!"
I'm very glad they got him back. :thumb:

Really funny!

Thanks for sharing such a funny clip. I wonder what the punishment is for the dear bird? Does it get a consequence?

The TV game announcers said the falcon would certainly be considered for "insubordination" at the Academy!

It was my son's roommate's falcon which cracked my son up when it left the stadium. His roommate is the one releasing the falcon in the ESPN video clip.

I am a great tracker. Did I mention that? OMG. DUG would be the best at finding the bird. That clip was funny :jump1:

aggie, he was one of my freshmen last year in my flight for basic and 2nd semester, and he was one of the 3 who decorated my room for 100s night. and the one on the field was in our squadron as well. needless to say i was able to give both of them a tough time about it. lol.
