This is a 15 minute watch, but well worth it for anyone interested in how The Citadel navigated the 2020-2021 school year and the COVID pandemic. The Citadel was able to have in person classes all year as well as complete the required training for the Knobs. As a parent, I was very impressed with how the school handled the dynamic situation. Hoping that 2021-2022 is less of a challenge!

Is the Citadel, currently doing any overnight visits? I'm not sure in the era of COVID?

Yes - Please see the attached link. Contact admissions for a pre-knob visit.
Unfortunately, as a result of COVID-19, the Office of Admissions is not currently expecting to host any overnight visit programs. In place of the Pre-Knob Program, other virtual engagement opportunities may be announced soon.

It states this, which is highly unfortunate. If I travel to SC from IN, I would want to stay there a couple days not just visit and return the next day. The flight is a tad-bit expensive.

MichaelT2022 - let me check with Admissions Staff and get the latest scoop on campus tours and overnights planned for Fall. Have you spoken with a current Cadet or Alumnus from your state? This can be arranged

I have not done so yet. I was planning to speak with someone from admissions tomorrow, if I can reach them...

You should call and talk to the Admissions counselor assigned to your region. Now is the time to ask questions and make sure The Citadel is a good fit for you and that what you intend to study will lead to a successful post graduation career. For out of state cadets, the cost is not insignificant, so you will want to ask about financial aid, and majors that interest you and in which you can be successful academically. For the Class of 2025, the most popular majors were engineering (there are five disciplines to choose from with mechanical being the most popular), Intelligence & Security, and Biological sciences. The fastest growing major is Cyber Security/Operations. Ask about qualifications needed for the major you intend to study. Engineering majors should have certain math prerequisites. Nursing majors must take either chemistry or biology and meet academic standards to continue in that major. The Business School May have certain requirements for continuing in specific majors. All these questions you should have answered - whichever college you decide to attend. Good luck.

Great accomplishment. Concern for this Fall is the Governor’s order prohibiting public schools and colleges from requiring masks or vaccinations. Just foolish with students coming from all over US and foreign countries to 34 public colleges and universities.

I submitted my application to study "Intelligence and Security Studies - specifically for military"

Now that I think of it, should I let anyone at admissions know that I plan to do SMP here? Just so they know?

Yes…if you intend to do SMP you must coordinate with The Citadel’s Palmetto BN (Army ROTC) detachment ROO. He or someone in the Army detachment will coordinate with your local unit. PS Admissions advised this AM that the college is working on campus visit protocol for Fall. It is not ready for release Likely it will be abbreviated due to COVID precautions.
