The Everything Drawer - Everyone has one, right? (post anything - within the rules)

Two disparate thoughts this morning: pic of a cool, beautiful fall morning and a morning dose of USNA Trident Brass Year of COVID finger-snapping music.

Me to him: "Hay partner! Wait for me: I gotta lock the doors!" (Beautiful dog BTW)

The U.S.S. Macon was the sister ship to the U.S.S. Akron. Although 20'-0" shorter than the hydrogen-filled Hindenburg, she was the largest helium-filled rigid-hull airship to ever fly. The hangers were so large for these airships that they had to keep the doors open on warm days to keep clouds from forming inside.

I remember the blimp hangars at NAS Brunswick GA (now FLETC, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) and at MCAS Tustin. Mini-climates inside those things, and I saw the clouds!

And it DID rain inside them!

The Hindenburg disaster was at NAS Lakehurst. The hangar at NAS Lakehurst is still there and open for tours at times. Very interesting place.

My plan is to go to Party City to pick up some American flags then visit my father's & his father's graves on that day. Never met my grandfather, only heard he was gassed in WWI. My grandmother I knew & is buried there with him, in Section 2 of a national cemetery. The guy next to them is a Spanish-American War vet!! Dad was an Army Sgt. in Korea...Tip of the hat & a wearing of the poppy as a rememberance to them all!!

I don't know. That's a little spendy for me. ;)

It sounds better now than when it left the factory, and five engines does sweeten the deal though.

Who wants to go in on this?
Only 3,250,000, plus whatever it takes to finish the restoration currently in process.

Agree with @THParent, a little spendy for me also, but a guy can dream about how to spend lottery winnings, right?

Don't tell anybody as I have a reputation to uphold but as I transition from a mind numbing obsession, I am occupying time with Hallmark Christmas movies. The Lifetime channel is showing them as well.

My wife: Are your clapping? No
My wife: Are your crying? No,,,,,noooo, dang, can't I just watch a movie?

I loved watching this. Our kid is one of the guitar players (not the firstie playing in this video). Being the new guitarist, he has much to learn but man I can't wait to see him play. This one really got me excited to hear them again, possibly with my kiddo.

^ The gal on the drums is awesome. That's a special God given talent there. Hell I have trouble tying my shoelaces! No way could I think of performing like she does.

My eye kept going to her as well. Completely focused and cool. Let’s hope she’s a “SAF DD!”

My wife and I went to Fredericksburg to enjoy the quaint downtown with the shops and eateries. If it weren't for the tourists we could have enjoyed that but instead played dodge the fast and furious drivers and cover the ears from cheap car speakers. I consider myself a local as I live not too many miles away and my daughter graduated from Mary Washington so I can be snobbish toward tourists. Today is our 36th wedding anniversary and being the classy guy I am treated her to a burger joint called Vivify. We sat outdoors and there's no way I could have ordered anything other than the Special-Chesty Puller. It was the most expensive item on the menu at 15 dollars and was spectacular.
