The Everything Drawer - Everyone has one, right? (post anything - within the rules)

DS in national guard is in the middle of his second AT this summer (got transferred after his first to brigade and is now doing one with them). It ends in 2 weeks. He and his wife are expecting their first child (grandson for us) in 4 weeks.

Younger son is respiratory therapist still working everyday against Covid. He and his wife are expecting their first child May 1st.

Our first 2 grandkids.

Congrats and welcome to the grandparent club. If I had known how much fun grandkids were I would have had them first.

Yep. That’s us here in FLA
My mom’s side migrated from Georgia to Alabama and dad’s side from Georgia to Florida. I was stationed there three years and believe it is one of the most unusual, unique, weird, and awesome places I’ve ever been. And I’ve been around the world. The people, the weather, the skeeters, the four venomous snake species, the beaches. Oh and the pythons. It’s just a big sand bar playground.

Frankly, it’s o.k. in the winter, but when I retire, I plan to spend as much time as possible out of this hurricane-stricken swamp

Friesian are beautiful, I worked with some Arabians and some Warm Blood jumpers but those are the best looking horse outside of a nice Appaloosa. Bitten by the Arabian . Crowded against the stall wall by the huge jumper but still alive but not mucking out stalls any more.:biggrin:.

I miss rotary phones. I liked the feel of the handset, and the feel and sound of dialing.
We have a working rotary phone in our kitchen that we bought just for nostalgia reasons. My in-laws are the only ones who have the number. We call it “the hotline.” It is black but it should’ve been red

When I read this, I had an immediate flashback to the recurring skit of Ernestine (Lily Tomlin) the AT&T telephone operator and her outbound calls to various people and entities, on “Laugh-In,” for those who recall that 20th c. show. There is a whole bunch of these on YouTube.
