The first three ships of the Forrest Sherman class. Forrest Sherman was the first destroyer built after WWII and my first ship. I reported in 1977 and the Spru Cans were coming out.

Three Guns, no waiting!

The two guns aft, one forward still seems a bit strange but they were certainly good ships.
 
It is said that less than 1% of Americans have ever seen a sunset from a Navy Ship. Here is for the rest of us.
I miss those. My sunsets are over trees which are sometimes good but not like the ones at sea.

That Carrier is the USS Theodore Roosevelt (Rough Rider) CVN-71. Finally found the reference.
