The Military Feel Good Thread - Post anything

@OldAFRet
He's stepping up to protect & defend our country, I'd like to see the Executive Branch, Congress, & his military leaders match that!

Youtube clip of my second ship on the original Hawaii 5-0. USS Cochrane was an Adams class DDG. Notice the bullnose painted gold. The keel was laid out a few inches longer than the rest of the ships in the class. The first CO had the bullnose painted gold to celebrate the distinction.

Just 5 more minutes to see the ocean that blue again. God one of the things I miss about the Navy. OK about only 1 of 3 things i miss.

@Devil Doc Congrats to your family on your son's promotion.

"On this day in 2009, Cpl Dakota Meyer charged into heavy gunfire multiple times to rescue comrades under attack from the Taliban. Over the course of the six-hour firefight, Meyer killed at least eight Taliban, personally evacuated 12 friendly wounded, and provided cover for another 24 Marines and soldiers. Meyer was awarded the Medal of Honor in September 2011."

The book, "Into the Fire" told his story. It was unbelievable.

On Monday I was ordained into the BGO program. I thought it would be like after the CPO initiation and suddenly know everything. You know like the "Go Ask The Chief" thing. I actually don't know much so don't ask me anything. But, I was able to log into the BGIS and click around on lots of good information. I will also stop with the controversial posts so I don't get fired before being assigned my first candidate.

Congratulations and BZ!

Too funny and too true.
Now, if we can get Adam Driver to do it, as he’s a vet and did an excellent job as Kylo Ren in the “Undercover Boss” sketch on Saturday Night Live. Worth looking for. He’s a funny guy.

Saw this on the news this morning. Marines from 8th and I are constantly in the news for doing this type of thing. They are awesome neighbors. Not my neighbors. I don't don't live in that neighborhood.

Congrats 💯!! But please don’t change. I look forward to your posts. All of them. Everyone has a space to fill here, and yours is particularly appreciated 😈

Thanks. I just met the current BGO for my school. He did a brief in the career center. He spent 30 years in the USN and 26 as a BGO. Been at my school for ten. Nice guy.

What an odd comment. Marine gunnys have been giving oorah speeches and moto talks since before Puller was a private.

"The Marine Corps is “aware of the subject video, which depicts a private, small-unit leadership, moment between Gunnery Sergeant Christopher Duncan McClain and forward-deployed Marines as they discuss the difficult loss of a fellow warrior, Sergeant Nicole Gee,” a spokesman from II Marine Expeditionary Force told Marine Corps Times in an email Sept. 24."
