The President and First Lady test positive for Covid-19

You're not going to make me contact my ER doctor dad to get numbers are you? Because I have a backlog of demanding numbers and studies from him.

He has cholesterol issues too, I believe. But I also don't have access to any of his medical records.
Anybody can quote numbers regardless of their place of employment. I talked numbers to my high school students in class today. One doesn’t require an MD to crawl around their favorite search engine. I wrote that the president is on a statin. I suppose you should ask Doctor Daddy what a statin is. Hint: it’s for cholesterol.

He is 20 years older than me. He is much heavier than me.

He must be in better shape than me. The man doesn’t stop. With all he has been through, most healthy men would have succumbed.

Most presidents seem to age at a rate that is disproportionate to the term of their service. It can be speculated that that is due to the weight of the office and their realization that their service is so important to the benefit of others rather than themselves.

President Trump doesn't seem to have aged much at all.

I'm sure he could. Or access JAMA. Either way, I'm not going to waste my time on it. So, is high cholesterol a risk factor?

JFC - the only impact comorbidities have on the covid survival rate is how many 9's there are to the right of the decimal point. There are always two 9's to the left of it.

Unless we put him into a nursing home in NY. Then it drops to 3’s to the left of the decimal point!

The good news is it appears it’s all academic now. He has been symptom free and doing well

Setting aside my wishes for the speediest return to health for POTUS, FLOTUS and everyone else involved, I share everyone's anxiety about how this will be covered. I fully expect both sides to spin it a particular way and for their favored media outlets and social media to shill for them--all with an eye towards Nov 3.

What we don't know is how the virus will run its course. It is simply too unpredictable. My wife and I contracted Covid at roughly the same time. She was symptom free within 72 hours. My symptoms started out mild. I described it at first, as a very mild flu. Things slowly worsened over a 7-9 day period with persistent high fever, exhaustion and several nights of night sweats (trust me, they're disgusting). After peaking, the symptoms gradually receded leaving me symptom free after another 7 days.

I simply can't imagine how even the best, most honest news outfits would cover the President's condition if it were to progress as did mine. Love him or hate him, people will want to know about his recovery. What are the questions which will be asked about the President's treatment? Do I or my sick parent have access to the same diagnostics and treatments as the President? What's his blood O2 count? Is he taking Hydroxychloroquine? Is he receiving convalescent plasma? What do we even have a right to know?
I'm hoping you're now ok. That's pretty scary stuff. I have a few friends that were very sick but thankfully all recovered.

My wife and I had it in mid to late March - right at the beginning of the lockdown in our area. Our bout was relatively mild with
low grade fever for a few days plus a few other symptoms. No trouble breathing for either of us and we were both symptom free after
7 to 10 days. We're both over 60 and have some co-morbidities but recovered at home with Tylenol for the symptoms.

So, listening over the weekend, I was a little surprised to hear POTUS referred to as 'obese'. At his height, I think he looks good, not 'obese'. Just my opinion, but if they consider him obese, then I'm in trouble. I am a little fluffier than I was prior to Covid. It seems a bit extreme to toss the obese word around. But, I am not a physician, nor do I play one on TV.
it depends on which opinion/news channel you watch. CNN referred to him as "morbidly obese" multiple times

Sorry but there is no way that Trump is 6' 3". He is maybe 6 ft if he's lucky. Look at pictures of Trump next to Obama. Obama is 6' 1" and Obama is clearly taller than Trump.

And Melania is not 5' 11" she is maybe 5'8. The only reason Melania is listed as 5' 11" is to support the fiction that Trump is 6' 3". Again, look at pictures of Michelle Obama next to Melania. Michelle is 5' 11" and she towers over Melania.

Nothing wrong with somebody increasing their height and decreasing their weight; after all vanity is universal.

My brother is 6’1” and had business dealing with Trump years ago. He said Trump was 2 to 3 inches taller than him back then.

I met President GW Bush after he left office for a a cocktail hour, lunch, and speech. His listed height is 6’0”. I am 6 feet tall - and I was at least two inches taller than him.

So who knows. Seems trivial.

I'm surprised that CNN didn't just do a voice-over from Austin Powers and have the President yelling "Git in ma belly!" after he so "irresponsibly ripped off his mask" (you know, on the 2nd floor - in the residence - 100 yards from reporters). My goodness, he's yuge!
