are half the size of the other SA threads....

I just wanted to say I find that interesting... Applied to the USCGA and the USMMA..... have not heard anything from either...

although kid has an interview with our congressman on the 18th for a USMMA nomination.

are there less nominations for each congressman & senator for the USMMA since the size of the USMMA is smaller, or do they give the same amount of nominations and let the USMMA decide who gets in?

Keep the faith. USMMA is the smallest of the Federal SAs, and is a "hidden gem." I think the number of threads relates to the smaller size and the fact only a small percentage of each class takes an active duty commission at graduation -- alumni spread out faster than other SAs.. Throughout my naval career I worked with master mariners from Kings Point who sailed on the Navy's civilian-crewed logistics ships -- a fine and well-respected bunch. No worries for any KP graduate in finding employment in a wide variety of transportation-related fields. It's a tight bunch of alumni and parents.
I don't have any insight into inner workings of USMMA Admissions processes in terms of how they do it. MOC office can give some insight into nom nbrs.
Am sure someone on here can help with more specifics.

According to US Code, USAFA, USMA, and USNA nominations are limited - each MOC is allotted 5 people at each academy, and they are allowed 10 nominations for each vacancy. Senators can nominate candidates statewide, Representatives can only nominate from their district.

USMMA nominations are not restricted by number, nor by Congressional district. Any Representative can nominate statewide, just like a Senator, to USMMA.

Appointments are supposed to be allocated proportionally, equal to each state's representation in Congress.

Thanks for the official sizing source. I was going by class sizes I'd seen on various sites for the last couple of years. The company I work for keeps an eye on numbers of midshipmen and cadets in various commissioning programs.

Edit: A quick look at various admission/alumni sources shows, from 2000-present, graduating classes at USMMA ranged from lo-hi 176-219, with overall Regiment size 904-979 for those years, with incoming classes in the mid-to-high 200's. At USCGA, roughly the same time frame, last couple of classes graduated just over 200, with various sources stating usual student body size is 996. I think the regression analysis would show all the dots pretty closely clustered! They are both special gems, and I enjoy visiting both.

So I could of sent packages to multiple Congressman (since I am only requesting a nomination for the USMMA)????

but what's her status?

Did she get an LOA and, if so, did she notify the MOCs'?

That means the LOA hasn't been be issued, otherwise it will show "Conditional" (DoDMER, nomination, CFA pending or other) or "Principal"

I know ... its just a waiting game..... :) :(

I do know they have submitted the waiver request to BUHMED for the DODMERB (due to disqual. for allergy shots) :(
