Any other parents of re-applicants out there? What did your son/daughter do to improve upon last year's application? The waiting game was so not fun last year, especially for those on the wait list who hung on til the bitter end  Rumor has it that once first semester college grades are received, the applications go before the review board. Hopefully an answer will come early this time around

My son is applying for the first time, but he is SO determined, that

I believe he would try a second time if necessary.

Best wishes and way to go to your child for have perserverance!

Well, at least you won't be waiting all year for that DODMERB waiver (I seem to recall that it came VERY LATE last year for you).

I believe that applicants who keep trying will have their perseverance rewarded, good luck! :thumb:

Thanks Luigi. Yes, that DODMERB clearance did take quite awhile! He redid the whole app....letters of rec, improved PFE, improved SAT scores....in short, everything possible to show his desire to attend. We'll see! Hopefully it will turn out well for everyone. :thumb:

I sure hope so, too!

We're all focused on waiting patiently and with assurance that God is in control.

When will the Early Action candidates get news of admissions decisions?

Does CGA defer some early action candidates to regular decision round?

My friend's son submitted his application EA. Of course, we're hoping for the best but I see this young man nearly every day and I don't want to ask if he's heard.

Amen. It is hard, though, giving up control...even if we never really had any in the first place!

The official, written policy is that Early Action candidates will know by December 24th. However, the letters usually start showing up around the 15th.

Yes, many. Up to 30%-40% of the class will come from the Regular Admissions pool, which includes everyone who was deferred under EA.

He will know his status (appointment or deferred) before Christmas. :thumb:

Last year my son received a deferment letter under EA (mid-December), then received appointment letter beginning of February. It was nice not needing to wait until March to hear further, as we had expected.
