The Waiver Process

These questions are for @DoDMERB - Deputy Chief or anyone who might know:

1. An applicant has been given a single DQ and then awarded a waiver from two separate SAs with only an applicant statement requested. The third has requested that the applicant see a specialist.

Once the applicant sees the specialist, will the first two SAs (who already provided waivers) automatically be given this new exam information as well, and could they rescind their waivers? Or are those files basically closed once the waivers are granted since each SA has its own review process? The applicant has received physical waiver emails/letters from both, as well as a DoDMERB portal update with "Waiver Granted."

2. For routine wisdom teeth removal after the DoDMERB exam, should DoDMERB be update once it is complete, or the SAs directly? Based on previous board posts it's clear that Wisdom Teeth removal is pretty standard and even encouraged on some posts, but can't quite tell who is the appropriate person to contact with a Dr. note that everything went well. Is this even necessary? (assuming so...)

Thank you very much for the help.

From DS's USNA portal (who just checked to see if his nom is there YET), under MEDICAL STATUS

"
"MEDICAL STATUS
If any illness, surgery, or injury has occurred since the time of your initial DODMERB medical examination, send details and substantiating doctor's statement to nomapps@usna.edu.
For information regarding your medical exam or status please visit the DODMERB website."

So have your son look in his instructions. Pretty sure guidance would be there.

Thank you very much @justdoit19.

@MullenLE would you please consider weighing in on #1? Or anyone who might know?

Do service academies or ROTC programs receive updated medical information/remedials requested by other academies/ROTC programs through DoDMERB, even after the applicant has been waived from their own? Or are those 'waived' files closed?

Many thanks to everyone for continued assistance and support.

Waiver authorities can only view their program,

When new information is received, all programs will get a copy of the new information, whether the wavier decision is pending, granted, or denied.
