There really have been some GOOD THINGS to come out of this Shelter-In-Place stuff

Sort of an aside to the auto insurance post above. I had a total knee replacement in late January and I have been off work from then until this past Monday. On top of the surgery, stay-at-home has kept me from going much of anywhere. I had to stop today and put gas in my F-150 (36 gallon tank). While doing so, I thought about how long it’s been since I put gas in so I checked my gas rewards statement and sure enough, it was before my surgery. January to April on one tank of gas. Who would have thought? And, even better is that it only cost me $35 to fill it!

Ok...I have a really good one. We have a lot of man/boy power here that we normally wouldn't. All day long. The weather is turning nice. So, the DOG is finally getting her FENCE!! Wahoo. Very excited. Couldn't have done it without this stay-at-home stuff! A nice, big 2/3 acre playground. And the men get outside, a nice workout...fresh air. And dad won't break his back doing it alone. AND I get a break from everyone as well.

BTW, would send my daughters outside to help too. I just don’t have any here. It’s me and a bunch of guys 🙄

We live in the Middle East and the police state is adept at enforcing lockdowns / curfews; we definitely don't want armed troops in American streets, but that's how they do business in these parts. That aside, the weather is beautiful and we take really long walks for purpose of shopping (although most times we never enter a store). Most of the streaming services work well with VPN and we have enjoyed our HBO and BritBox subscriptions.

Examples of things to do while Sheltering in Place. William Shakespeare: King Lear, Macbeth and Antony and Cleopatra in one year. Isaac Newton: Calculus, Light Spectrum and Gravity. Eduard Munch: artist The Scream. Thomas Nashe playwright: Last Will and Testament. Giovanni Boccaccio: The Decameron. So get out your pencils, paper and paintbrushes. I am in cabin fever mode.
