Third AFROTC Scholarship Board Cancelled

Not sure if anyone knows or not, but does AFROTC HQ take into consideration the fact that people have to commit to colleges and that the falcon scholarship deadline is tomorrow? I don't mean to come off as pushy or "the whole USAF revolves around high school seniors", I'm just curious if that is a factor they think about. I'm just trying to figure out whether they will be rushing to get them out this week or if they will take their time with it since they have to work on releasing ICSP, PSP, rated, and EAs as well. Not sure if scholarships are the last on their list.

I don’t think they care. Same thing is going on with NROTC except they don’t even bother giving you an estimated date. DS has got to choose soon. One option is campus based AFROTC. He went before the 2nd board as well and at the time they were still saying we would know by the end of March. I wasn’t sure he made the right decision because it locked him in. But, he still did not have an admission decision from his other 2 schools yet that have both AFROTC and NROTC. Since NROTC was (is) still possible we figured one scholarship would be better than potential for nothing. Now he has been accepted to the other schools that have NROTC but we have to wait for scholarship results to make a decision.

We’ve gone ahead and submitted tuition deposit for DS to Embry Riddle Daytona while we’re waiting to hear back on scholarships from AFROTC and NROTC. He has some merit scholarships in place that will be a huge help if one doesn’t come through but we’re sure hoping it will. I agree with above comment that at this point they really don’t care about the deadlines we’re all facing. I’ve been an AF wife for 20 years and if there’s one thing I’ve learned is there is absolutely nothing I can control when it comes to the military. I’ve switched my middle name to “patience” 🤣jk of course

Has anyone else noticed that the screen when you logged in has changed this morning? On my son's screen when he log in several of the "buttons" are no longer available, including that one that used be there for "status."

Mine is the same - but it is now saying that the detachment staff will contact him .... but no other info ....

Mine is the same way, saying I am not authorized to access the page. Starting to think that I didn’t receive a scholarship.

no email, but the portal states the below and now there are medical and release forms to fill out. Does this mean that the detachment staff will contact with college programmer info...and no scholarship is being offered at this time? DS is reaching out the detachments at his top two choices but is waiting to hear back at the moment.

"Your application will be reviewed by the detachments you selected. Detachment staff should contact you in the near future. Please check your spam/junk folder regularly for any AFROTC correspondence.

If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact one of the detachments you listed on your application (Detachment contact information can be found on AFROTC.com). Detachment staff can advise you on the remainder of the process and answer any questions you may have."

My son's says the same - please let us know what you find out .... my son is in class and hasn't been able to reach out to the detachment staff at his top choice schools.

My son has the same message -- but no medical forms to fill out (but he was already cleared by the DoD MERB for a Navy ROTC scholarship)-- not sure what this means.

You can have him check his DODMERB site....if offered, there may be new action there.

My DS has cleared DODMERB and had letters from USAFA and USNA that he was medically qualified. Still has the medical form to fill out on the AFROTC portal. I think its just a question of if he has had his physical or not yet.

Will report back if he hears anything from the detachment in regards. I don't think AF calls it college programmer...I think that is the NROTC term...but means the same thing. Join ROTC without scholarship and hope for a in college scholarship offer later.
