Third round Army Offers

When I talk about scholarships going up, I'm referring to seeing them posted in our system (CCIMS) that we can see at the Battalion. When I talk about the scholarship going out I'm talking about the offer letter signed by the General at Cadet Command being mailed. Once that is done my understanding is statuses will change on the scholarship status website the applicants have access to. Hope that makes more sense.

Need help understanding the process. I understand that a scholarship transfer almost requires divine intervention. There is hope in that it's an expensive school to an out of state SMC. Are transfer decisions made on this third board? Is the transfer process separate from the "boards"? DS is staying busy and focused. Personally, I'm pulling my hair out waiting.
I got the transfer request I knew about adjudicated before the third board was done at my school. Where you talking to the ROO at the school you are trying to transfer too? Do they have room and allocations? I pressed for a decision because I wanted to lock in the scholarship before they offered any third rounders. If your ROO/Battalion waited then you will probably have to wait until third round offers are resolved. The request goes up to Cadet Command, but they are just going to push it back down to Brigade, and Brigade is probably going to check with the gaining Battalion to make sure they want the applicant, hence you need to be talking to that ROO or Battalion.

Offers

Has anyone received notice of an offer? We were at one of my son's school choices last week and the ROO stated that all offers had gone out a month ago. And pulled our son up on the system to see nothing in the file. Just wondering if he should stop holding his breath.

Also, I read somewhere here that if you received a QNS letter from a SA and did not get selected for an Army 4-yr that you were possibly going to receive a letter regarding a 3-yr. I can't find that post. Has anyone seen that or heard about that? The ROO at the college we just visited again mentioned he had read something about that and it sparked a memory of this with us.

Either there is a misunderstanding with the ROO or he was just incorrect. The Army has 3 boards, the last board met back on March 5th. The results for the March 5th board have not been released to the applicants yet.

Clarkson has posted the the results have been posted on CCIMS which is what the battalions see. The ROO may have looked up your son ans did not see his name, of course since he seems to think that all the offers have gone out then he may not have looked in the right place. Hang in there a bit longer, Clarkson said the status pages may start to change as soon as Thursday.

Cadet Command will offer either 4 yr or 3 yr scholarships, sometimes they wil offer a 4 yr to one school and a 3 yr to another. The offers are made at the same time, school selection and cost have much more to do with a 3 yr then whether the applicant received a QNS letter from a SA.

Thanks, that's helpful. We thought there seemed to be a disconnect, especially since not one person has posted anything yet.

Happy Son

My son's status changed today stating that he had been awarded an AROTC scholarship. Of course, he must complete the DodMERB so we are not looking at it as if it written in stone. We are very pleased and hope that everything falls into place.
