Good afternoon,

I have a question regarding the classes I have taken while at college. This Fall semester (Sophomore year) I took Calculus, Macroeconomics, History, Accounting 1, and Financial Analysis. I know that USNA wants Calculus, English Composition, Chemistry, and History because they resemble plebe courses. However, since I already have three semesters under me will they look at my freshman course load as well and not just look at this semester? Will they combine that I had English last semester and add that with the courses I took this semester to evaluate plebe level courses? During my freshman year I took English Comp 1 and 2, as well as Microeconomics. I have a 4.0 throughout my 3 semesters at my respective university and I plan to major in Quantitative Economics at the academy if appointed. Thank you all in advance.

It's ok to have taken the plebe courses over time at college. I don't see any chemistry or physics. That could hurt.

Usna being heavy on STEM might want to see more rigorous math & science. For example: most high school seniors accepted to USNA have taken Cal BC, AP physics, AP Chem etc.
But if you have strong GPA & strong SAT/ACT, being a reaplicant can help! Best wishes!

Did you ever consult one of the admissions counselors to find out "why" you were not appointed after the first attempt from college?
As usna1985 said...if Chem/Physics was never in your course load and that was what, indeed, hurt you....then re-applying this year isn't probably going to do you any good without it.
I hope you did talk to an AC in the last two attempts....they will, generally, tell you what set you back...you should have (and hopefully did) go into this year's application knowing what you had to do to put your best effort forward.

But, yes, they do look at the "whole" picture --- everything from H.S. thru college.

I have talked to an AC and they said that what was holding me back was my math ACT score. They wanted to see how I would do in Calculus and other math courses. I went to Annapolis in November of 2015 and it was not a CVW. I took the time and effort to go out there myself and to experience the campus and set up a meeting with my AC. This is where I want to be and I feel that I have done the rights things. I've become more actively involved in the community, increased my CFA scores each year, and have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my college career so far.

Hope you took SAT again & increased your math score? Glad you are not giving up
