This brought tears to me.....Sing Second

USMA ALMA MATER

Hail, Alma Mater, dear!
To us be ever near,
Help us thy motto bear,
thru’ all the years.
Let Duty be well performed,
Honor be e’er untarn’d,
Country be ever armed,
West Point, by thee!

Guide us, thine own, aright,
Teach us by day, by night,
To keep thine honor bright,
For thee to fight.
When we depart from thee,
Serving on land or sea,
May we still loyal be,
West Point, to thee!

And when our work is done,
Our course on earth is run,
May it be said, “Well done.
Be thou at peace.”
E’er may that line of gray
Increase from day to day;
Live, serve, and die, we pray,
West Point, for thee!

Go Army!

Before taking the field, each Army football player places his hands on a bronze plaque displaying a quote attributed to General George C. Marshall while he was serving as chief of staff of the army during World War II. The plaque reads, “I want an officer for a secret and dangerous mission. I want a West Point football player.” Go Army!

Below is an article about the approx. 100 yr old tradition of Army running the game ball from WP to Philly (Navy does also):

Wishful, the 2LT is the director of the video; incredibly talented young man who has made some wonderful film vignettes and spirit videos for USMA. The young woman singing is a current yuk; the gentleman featured singing is a member of the West Point Band. Their combined talent is incredible, and shows that all cadets at WP can continue favorite hobbies or interests.

Thanks....& we watched them sing second last night!
