Recieved type 7 AFROTC scholarship as backup and turned it into a type 3, 2 year scholarship, and recieved other scholarships from Private companies which were for back up.

...I only applied to USAFA...

Yes! ...at least I'm not the only one. Well, sort of. I applied to USAFA and USMA. I was waitlisted for USMA, and recieved an Appointment to USAFA. :)

Rock on! :shake:

Before applying to any other colleges, I decided to attend a Service Academy Preparatory Program if I didn't get a USAFA appointment this year, and then I'd reapply for USAFA next year. I wanted to be in a military setting.

So, I was headed for Marion, Alabama to attend Marion Military Institute for a year, where I'd also be part of AFROTC. Otherwise, I would've applied to University of Washington or University of Portland, which both have great AFROTC programs.

But, I'm taking my Academy appointment and running with it! :)

You would have enjoyed the change from Washington State to Alabama in August

Last June I spent 10 days in Montgomery, Alabama for CAP's Cadet Officer School and it was great weather. I'm sure August gets muggy like I've never experienced though. Anyone have anything to say about weather in Colorado Springs?

I heard a saying "if you don't like it, just wait a second."

Absolutely... Was a beautiful day this morning up till 11ish... Then, blizzard, then blue skies, then overcast with snow. Lots of it.

You never get bored with the weather!:thumb:

I got accpeted into...
Texas A&M Univeristy
USNA Prep School =(
Univeristy of Texas San Antonio

I didn't bother to applying for my original list of all my colleges, lol because I got my acceptance letter in October, I got lazy. :shake:

Okay, I got into
University of the Pacific
Trinity Western
and USAFA!!! I chose USAFA!

I'll answer for my son who is spending spring break in Washington D.C. taking a good hard look at the Constituion and the Bill of Rights at the Smithsonian.

UC Los Angeles
USC
UC San Diego
UC Santa Barbara
Calif. Polytechnic Institute

He applied and was accepted into the aeronautical engineering program or if that was not offered, mechanical engineering program of all of these schools. He is coming to the orientation on the 13-14 to make his final decision, but right now he is definitely slanted towards the USAFA. He made an appointment and is going tomorrow to the Capitol to see the congresswoman that nominated him to thank her and I didn't even suggest it! Somewhere I blinked and he grew up.

I love snow! We don't get nearly enough in the Pacific Northwest.

it gets very boring very quickly. take it from a midwestern boy who had most of december january and february with snow cover. it just gets to be a pain in many regards. personally, i like snow...until january 10th or so. then it needs to go. but i will suck it up next year though and deal with it. During a stretch where it was right about zero at my house though, it was nice to see usafa at a very balmy 50 degrees or so. should be fun...

I got into the following colleges:

USMA
USAFA
The Citadel
VMI
Norwich University
University of Florida
University of South Florida

USAFA
The Citadel
Francis Marion University

I only had eyes for USAFA.

Really though, it truly does get old. Fast. Last year it snowed where I live in MO from Oct to mid-March. There wasn't a day that the ground was clear of snow until March 15. I kept track. Of course, that was kind of a weird year...but I still hadn't recovered from sick-of-snow disease by winter this year. And low and behold, it just snowed again today.
