I thought this would be interesting to see who got in where.

I got into: University of South Florida
University of Central Florida
and Embry-Riddle (Daytona Campus)

I did get rejected from University of Florida which I think is very strange.

Presidential scholarship to University of North Dakota
US Air Force Academy

(UND isn't very competitive, but I liked it, so I didn't have any back ups)

For kicks and giggles:

Rose-Hulman IT
Purdue
Georgia Tech
Colorado School of Mines

Rose Hulman, University of Utah, Northern Arizona University, West Point, but made the right choice => USAFA.

umm....

UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Cruz
UC San Diego
and my backup: CSU Fullerton

but i got my first choice! :thumb:

Purdue. that was my only backup.

Funny thing is, i applied to Purdue school of Engineering, and they accepted me into Purdue Technical school. haha oh well, at least the Academy got it right

Son is up late working on Physics IA so I'll add in his acceptances:

USAFA
Virginia Military Institute
Virginia Tech (Corps of Cadets and Engineering School)

Waitlisted at University of Virginia (sigh - over 22K applicants this year)
No news yet from USNA

USAFA was first choice and also first school he heard back from

J.NordicSkier: my eldest son is hoping to go to UND for grad school - of course, he has to pay for it himself, with no hope of a dime from his parents! It's a nice campus, if a little off the beaten path. Great space and aviation programs too.

Did all of you decide on AFA or are some of you still making up your minds?

I got into USAFA before i really applied anywhere else. but i did end up applying to Valparaiso University in Indiana just in case. Didn't get as much scholarship money as i thought, however, which surprised me. USAFA was definitely the number one choice.

USNA

The Ohio State University
University of Texas at Austin
Texas A&M
Miami University (Ohio)
University of Utah

Besides the USNA and AFA, UT was the only school that I wasn't entirely confident I would be admitted to. All the others were safe bets.

In response to fencersmother, the choice comes down to Navy and AF. While I will likely still go AFA, I was impressed by USNA, so I won't be making a final decision until after orientation. I will also keep OSU in reserve on the off chance I break my leg between now and June.

In addition to USAFA,
-AFROTC Type 1
-University of Washington, Seattle
-Texas A&M
