As senior year is coming to an end, I want to wish those candidates in CPR good luck as they will be hearing their final status within the next week or two. Everyone who has completed the process of service academy admission is a fighter and has shown thorough perseverance.

I am looking forward to I-Day June 29th. Will be in town with family a few days before to spend the final days with them before starting the journey of a lifetime.

Thank you to everyone on this forum. Throughout this long process, this site provided me with insight firsthand. Even after my appointment, I check this daily, rooting for the candidates that I hope I can one day call my shipmates.

I want to leave those still in CPR and dreams of the Academy with a quote from Marie Curie: "Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained."

Nice attitude! Hang on to that when you meet your detailers! GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!
Good luck class of 2021!

DD is still CPR - Brawny, when I get freaked out over I Day, Plebe Summer, meeting detailers, and reform, my DD always says to me "Mom, it is a set number of weeks and they aren't going to kill me." Glad she's the one with the cool head who may one day be in charge of really big weapons!

I always tell future Plebes... they can't hit you and they can't make time stop. The first week will be a hot mess. The second week you will wonder if you will make it. The third week you start to be less of a hot mess and find a groove just in time for detailers to change! Week 4 is figuring out the new detailer. Week 5... yes parents will be here soon, I got this! Week 6, parents are here, we made it! Week 7, oh wait, we have another week? Oh no! They out number us now. Week 3 of academic year... Plebe Summer was so much easier.

Good luck to all! And seriously go have some fun. It's the last few weeks to months of school.

I told both my Mids the same thing before their respective I-Days. The only difference between you and them is they know what comes next. At some point, you will start to know what comes next, and that will make all the difference!

My DS said for the first 2 or 3 weeks, he didn't even think about making it through another day, he just thought about making it to the next meal. Somehow he could deal with just making it till the next meal. Then about 3 weeks in, he caught his stride and realized he could endure it and he had bonded with his company mates. It got better. After the dark ages set in I asked him on the phone how he was really doing and he said "Oh I'm fine dad. I love this place more than I hate it"
