My nom de plume is THParent.

I am a Husband, Dad, Marine, Gunsmith, and pretty good at the white collar job I do in an office acting as the old sage, teaching the new kids the tricks of the trade, along with all I have learned while doing the job for the past 30+ years.

I have been pretty active here since the Fall of 2017.
I have a son who went to USNA (I-Day was June 28, 2018) and commissioned as a 2nd LT in our Marine Corps with the class of 2022 (the class with the 2nd fastest Herndon climb in history).

Being a Dad is the best job I ever had

and...

I like bacon.

A lot.

Normal bacon, candied bacon, Canadian bacon, all of the above?

Just go read the Bacon Thread start to present. @THParent is the august founder of the moderator-beloved bacon thread in Off-Topic, where the only fights that break out are over whether you should store your bacon fat in the refrigerator or at room temp, or if duck bacon or venison bacon is really bacon, and comparative analyses of American bacon, Irish bacon and English bacon are contemplated - and no one has been cautioned (unless they are peer-shamed for not mentioning bacon in their post) or banned, and civil discourse is the norm.

@THParent it’s about time you introduced yourself. 😁🥓🥓🥓🥓

It IS a great job. I hope my son and DIL get to do it someday... but we'll into the future, when their travel and adventures simmer down a bit.
