I thought it might be helpful to post that there are a number of colleges that offer college application fee waivers if you know where to look.

Pitt - if you attend a webinar this Friday, you can get a code that you can use to waive the application fee.
Embry Riddle Daytona Beach - if you visit the campus you can request a code to waive the application fee.
RPI: If you are an RPI Medial recipient you do not have to pay the application fee.
Carleton College-MN
Wellesley College - MA
Service Academies: (No cost) Applying to ROTC scholarships (No cost).
A lot of colleges reportedly don't change application fees: Colby College - ME, Smith College, Colorado College, Grinnell, Canyon College, Tulane, Michigan Technical College, St. Louis U, Oberlin College, U of Dayton, Rice U to name a few.

If you are aware of other ways to avoid paying the college application fees - which are often 65.00 -75.00 each, and are willing, please share.

Those with financial need can also work with your guidance and universities to request application fee waivers. It's tough for this year's seniors as some of you have not had the opportunity to visit a campus while students are present - as such you may be applying to places now in hopes if you get in, that in the spring you can visit (hopefully) A lot of applications open on 8/1.

Good luck to the rising seniors as you start navigating through the ROTC and college application process.

Virginia Tech waives the application fee if you are applying to the Corps of Cadets. If they accept you, you must participate in the Corps of Cadets for a minimum period of time.
