Sorry that I haven't been around for a while. Son finally finished up his 2 years of STO Training; and before that his 3 years of Grad school for his master's and PhD. And we met up with him and his wife (and soon to be baby) to visit family all over the country. They leave in a couple weeks for a new assignment in Okinawa Japan. Won't get to visit or see him for close to 2 years.

Anyway; FALCON FOOTBALL starts this Saturday. Parent's weekend. And that means "THUDGATE". The best and biggest tailgate west of the Mississippi. There are literally hundreds of tailgates going on at Falcon Stadium on game day. And there's even some sponsored and open to the general public. While Thudgate is a private tailgate, serviceacademyforums.com does donate and sponsor a number of our tailgates. (Shout out to Shane; Thanks Brother); and as such, we do welcome members of this forum to our tailgate. While it is a private tailgate, we average more than 200 people. Parent's weekend and playing Navy/Army we have huge turnouts. (Not very private when it's that big).

Thudgate is an "Air Force Family". Many of our members/guests are alumni from the academy; had/have cadets of their own their; sponsor cadets; are retired military; active duty; and even a good number of active cadets. And YES, the name "Thudgate" is related to the F-105. Look for the Thudgate Facebook page. Check it out. You can learn all about Thudgate; what it means; what we do; our beliefs and support for the academy. Plenty of videos, pics, and posts to explain it.

So, if any of you forum members happen to be at the academy this weekend and aren't too busy with your own cadets and their tailgates; feel free to stop by. If you get there, give me a shout out. Just so you know, there are a LOT of "Mike's" in our group. (Great name). So, when asking for me, they don't know "Christcorp". So ask for "Mikey" or "Mike from Wyoming". Everyone knows who that is. Hope to see you.

Sorry to miss this weekend.. my first miss in 4 years...yep the grad is at SPS and doing BASH program as a causal waiting for his class to start in January.
Have fun and will miss all of y’all, definitely will be out for Navy if not before. Older son getting married next weekend so it cancels PW & game. Will, however, look cool with the young Lt as best man! Take care my friend and will see you again soon.

See you tomorrow!

It was a good Thudgate. Good to see a number of forum members. The game was as expected, except for 2 delays because of lightning. Kind of takes the thrill and momentum out of the crowd.

Hope parents and cadets have an enjoyable weekend together. Next Thudgate is the 29th. Hope to see y’all there.

Excellent Thudgate today and excellent win over Navy. 35-7. Lot of visitors st Thudgate. Somewhere between 200-300. VIP’s. Secretary of the Air Force, Air Force chief of staff, commander of special operations command, many other dignitaries. John chapman’s Family was there. Chapman received the MOH posthumously a few weeks ago. It was a great day.

And thanks to the service academy forum for their contribution. It went towards a really nice smoked pig. Lots of food, drink, and Air Force family camaraderie.

And I missed being there!!! I was there but it was my family's day...

Still an excellent win! Maybe the Boise game...
