WAHOO!!

My son received his nomination to USAFA Class of 2014 today from Senator Saxby Chambliss -YAY!!!

This past Tuesday he was awarded a full NROTC scholarship too

DOIN' THE HAPPY DANCE! Hubby will be thrilled when he comes home - he is USAFA Class of '78 and even though I am the product of USC's AFROTC (Fight on!), as a retired AF officer, I am over the moon!!!!

Even if a candidate is PQ and decides to go to USAFA there are many other factors to get a pilot slot. Mainly academics!

Answering previous posts, I have 20/15 vision and, last year I was told that I didn't get an Appt because I wasn't Potentially Pilot Qualified, which turned out to be wrong (long story) and so here I am now!

He also got an LOA from USMA and USNA.

Anyone have an idea how many kids get 3 LOAs our MOC was very surprised.

My son and I really like this forum and have obtained alot of good information here, he will continue to gather information here as input to his decision.

My son has 3 LoAs (USNA, USAFA, USMA) as well. One thing to keep in mind is that not everyone applies to more than 1 or 2 SAs. I do know of several people who applied to 2 SAs and have received LoAs to both.

I have also received three LOA's. I got my USNA LOA in the mail first around the middle of September, then about a week later my USMA LOA, then finally on November 14, I received my LOA to my first choice school, USAFA!

A Pizza Story

Monday night is pizza night at our house. After a full day of preseason track, drum line practice, and classes, I was looking forward to our weekly pizza feast. I came home and my dad had just picked up the pizza and it was waiting for me on the kitchen counter. I opened up the pizza box and instead of a pizza, it contained my offer of appointment to the US Air Force Academy. Needless to say, I will never forget that "pizza moment" in my entire life.
