Time to Float the Idea of Liberty for the Mids

Any recommendations for good, authentic Mexican (not Tex-Mex or chains) within a 20 mile radius of the USNA Chapel?

@whataluckymom

And, more upscale, Jalapeños.

Mix of regional Mexican and Spanish. The chef was a well-known DC chef; this is his “retirement fun” family recipes restaurant. Excellent tapas. Very good all around.

Resevations recommended. Popular with locals.

In a small shopping area off Forest Drive, oddly placed near a Dollar store and other strange bedfellows

I don’t know ... but I just picked up a bunch of 1Ib bags of dried Navy and Pinto beans, along with boxes of Corn Bread mix at Walmart.

I have ham bones left over in the freezer.

Fall weather ..... Soak them beans .... Yummy.

Are ya within 20 miles radius of the Chapel? We can be there soon, but I bet the beans won't be ready yet!!

85 miles from north of Leesburg/Lucketts ... Wife will be down there tomorrow. Daughter gets her first Liberty.

She could bring some, but it doesn’t taste the same cold.

An interesting Talk on the idea to “scrub a little dirt on it” is in fact not a good policy. It’s ok to not be ok. And compassion for how different people handle things will be good once these people commission, and have to handle a variety of situations.

Sin Fronteras

Hole in the wall. Not Tex-Mex. Not a chain.
Favorites from Mexico, South and Central America. Caters to local Latino families.

On Forest Dr near Rte 2.
FANTASTIC RECOMMENDATION!! This place was right up our alley! The food was great and the owner stopped by to talk to us several times. There was a glitch with their liquor license (lost paperwork at the license office due to COVID), so we didn't get margaritas, but the owner gave us dessert on the house. It was also quite entertaining watching DS eat chips and salsa while wearing summer whites!!

Thank you @Capt MJ , we will be back!

So glad you enjoyed it. Very much a community and family place. I like the Peruvian specialties on the menu, due to a Peruvian sponsor daughter a few years ago.

We got steered there by two Columbian guys who have Frisian show horses where my husband boards his Appaloosas. It’s the kind of place you can roll into with your jeans and dusty boots straight from a sweaty trail ride.

If I had been a mid, I would have picked a place like that for my graduation party, taken the place over, kept the family style food coming and the margaritas flowing. Jeans and Navy gear the uniform of the day.

Next time I am down in Annapolis I am checking this out. Sounds great.

My plebe can now confirm that the Iron Rooster is excellent. He also did a return visit to the Severn Inn and loved the benedict for brunch and reports that the ice cream in Annapolis is very good. I will say he enjoyed the day and the happy faces in Annapolis yesterday.
