Timing of NROTC Status change

When does the status change on the NSTC webpage ? (Current says no decision made) - Before or after a letter is received ? Currently Dodmerb is only showing USNA as agency (declined) - when does that update if a scholarship is forthcoming ? Son is admitted at top 3 preferences, has merit scholarships at two - how long to wait before accepting ? Request extensions ? Deposits add up. Thanks...
 
Last year, we found out my son was awarded the NROTC scholarship first by checking the status page. It was updated shortly after the board. The second notice was by email from the regional scholarship coordinator and the third notice was by mail, about two weeks after the web status was updated.

You may want to contact the regional scholarship coordinator to find out when the boards are, they should be about over for this year, that will give you an idea of when to expect a final decision.
