(To current academy cadets) What is your favorite part about being at the Academy?

Zoomie is used plenty at USAFA, or at least back in the day...we considered ourselves similar to animals in a zoo...and a blue zoo, at that. Many probably think the word comes from a zooming airplane, but the roots are in the analogy to a zoo.

I am one of those parents who's never been there. That said, since about 3 months into her plebe year I have heard over and over "I wouldn't be anywhere else" from DD. I honestly think she is pretty happy at USNA!

BTW:-------SHE GOT HER #1 choice about 1/2hour ago!!!! I'M GLAD THAT'S OVER!!!!!! She worked pretty hard n gave up a sport she loved. In her case there was no knowing until she received "the envelope".

My favorite parts about my academy were the routine, the cohesion -- We all looked the same, usually acted the same and mutual respect for each other, and the discipline. If you had asked me this plebe year I would've said I hate everything, but it's one of those things that takes time, maybe a couple of years to appreciate.
