It seems like the whole process is very long and that I am a bit late for applying for nominations already. The deadline is mid october for all of my sources and I have to apply for all of them too. Am I already too late if my sources are accepting nominations at this time too?

I'm assuming your speaking of MOC noms? They accept applications during this time. Once the deadline for apps has been reached, you'll be contacted. Most will have a committee interview the candidates. From there, nominations are then given.

So, you're not too late. Apply now and you'll be fine.

I am a candidate applying this year as well. You have 7-8 weeks until the deadline according to your original post. That is more than enough time to complete your nomination packages. The things that take the longest are letters of recommendation and essays. So contact the people you want to write you letters ASAP and then start working on essays. This will give them time to work on it because teachers/coaches/etc are usually busy, especially now that school is starting. And you preferably will have time to revise your essays too. Good luck

Assuming you are talking about MOC noms, you still have time. I started mine recently. However, some MOC have a closer deadline than others. Just make sure you're working on it as quickly as possible :)
