I am a senior in high school who is applying to West Point. My file will be completed by the end of next week. I am qualified in all categories. How much have I hurt myself by turning in my application this late?

Isn't the deadline January 31st? As long as you get everything in by then, you're fine but you're cutting it VERY close. The bulk of appointments will go out in the next 2-3 months.

Have you applied for nominations? You can't receive an appointment without one and many of the congressional ones will have had deadlines that have already passed. I'm not sure about deadlines for other nomination categories (JROTC, SDVET). The Vice-Presidential does not require an interview, so if the deadline hasn't passed for that, you should definitely apply online.

NOMs/Late Start

Pretty sure ALL NOMs have to be in by 31JAN14. Never to late to apply for a strong candidate - if you can get a NOM. Only @25% of the class has been offered a appointment.

Simple but sound advice....

Stay off the forums and complete your application. 3 days ago you posted a similar thread and said that your application would be done that week. Now, 3 days later it's pushed back to next week.

School cancellations in Minnesota pushed back availability for taking the CFA but you are absolutely right.
