I had never seen or heard of that. Twin eye rolls by us. No doubt it’s been done, or it was a “movie thing.”

Never heard of it being done with wings but it has been a "thing" with SEALs pounding their Trident Pins into caskets.

Funny story that is kinda "Top Gun" related. My mid was at the Supt. Tailgate this weekend and he got to talk to one of the upper echelon of the JAG department (please forgive me if I'm not using proper navy jargon). Anyway, my mid knows that pilots often tear apart the "Top Gun" movie so, he thought he would ask this officer about the "Top Gun" movie for the JAG department...."A Few Good Men". My mid said they went on for a while about the inaccuracies of that movie .
