Torn ACL waiver?

Hey guys,
Last year I was appointed to USAFA but unfortunately lost that appointment due to a torn ACL while playing baseball for my high school. I did everything I could to try to get a deferal to next year but they told me I had to start over and repply! Well here I am again in the application process. I had surgery to repair my ACL in May 2011 and was in physical therapy until August. My therapist has released me for physical activity and I sent all my records and a letter from my therapist to DODMERB.
However, I am still medicaly disqualified and have been pending a waiver since August. Is there anyway to help speed up the process? Should I send anything to my USAFA counselor?
Thanks!
Matt

My understanding of the waiver process is that if the Service Academy feels the medically disqualified applicant is worthy of an appointment, they (the academy) request a waiver from DoDMERB. So I would think you should communicate with your USAFA counselor and see what your status is and if there is anything more you can provide. Hopefully others that know more than I will chime in. Good luck to you!

Also certain conditions are not waiverable.

I don't know if repaired ACL is waiverable or not.

I was just cleared today by both USNA and USAFA for an ACL injury that I had reconstruction surgery on back on May 10, 2011. It can be done, just gotta keep your head up and enjoy the wait
