Does anybody know around what times a male distance runner would need to get recruited? Specifically 800, 1500, 5k?

Email the coach. I emailed the USCGA coach and he gets right back to you. For USCGA it's around 4:30 Mile

Just speaking from my experience looking at different college track teams, I figure standard times for most of the service academies and really most colleges would be 1:58 800, 4:20 1600 (approx. 4:02-4:05 1500), and sub 15:30 5k for XC. USMMA doesn’t have recruiting standards posted, so it may be higher or lower, but I know a 4:20 mile will at least let you walk on at nearly any school, so it’s a good round number to shoot for.
