Just found out a promising young kid from DS's high school who was in JROTC with him and on his sports team took his own life this morning. No known tells. Good grades. Involved. Socially engaged. Military family. High achiever. Not sure what to make of it or how to process it. Can't fathom what his friends are going through let alone his family.

I wish I could offer a solution or rational for this but I can't. Just stay vigilant, be empathetic and have moral courage if faced with such a challenge.
 
The world our young kids are living in seems to be one that is very inclusive and busy and social. But the technology and the pandemic have managed to isolate them.

So sad. Condolences to your son, the family, teammates, and ROTC cadre.

I mean even with plenty of socialization suicides happen. In the end it's about what's inside, not what they are going through.
