Hi, quick question: on the application itself, the transcript goes in as an upload, however, on the application checklist there is a box for an "official transcript." Is the upload considered an official transcript or are the two different? Thanks for your help!

From what my daughter showed me and what I remember from the app handbook- the "official transcript" is the one your guidance counselor sends, not the one that gets uploaded on the application. So yes they are two different items with one being a part of the application your student completes and the other something the school sends and has a separate box on the checklist. Your high school counselor would be the first person I would check with as they also are supposed to send a school profile.
Ps- the official transcript and test scores took quite awhile to post as completed on the checklist.

On the application it says-- High School Transcript: Please upload your most recent transcript including all final grades and coursework in progress. If recommended for an appointment, you will be required to submit an official transcript directly from your high school. So it seems like from that, unofficial for application...official if appointed. Doesn't hurt to double check though.
From my recent experience, the transcript that you upload will not be reflected in the application checkbox. The checkbox was only marked complete for me after my guidance counselor submitted. Repeating what was already noted above but confirming this is the case for 2021 applicants.
My DD uploaded the transcripts when doing the app. However, they did not appear in the bears den as "received" until she finished her essays and the rest of her app. As soon as she submitted her essays, the next day, the transcript box was checked as received. Does that make sense?
The box will only get checked once the application is complete and the guidance counselors official transcript is received and processed. If they receive the guidance counselors Before you complete your application- the box still won't get checked off until you have completed and submitted your application. The transcript the student uploads with the application will not get you a check mark.
