Tribute to USAFA Class of 2013

A thread was started on the CC forums about the class color of '13 by semper and it was filled with may jokes about gray and silver :thumb:

It also started to involve a few threats to the appointees if we continue to question eagle or hornet. Not a pretty picture!

Actually I didn't start it... I'm sure this will be a topic that will be argued by all classes that have grey/silver class colors :thumb:

I will halt all comments on the greyclass color from now on though... Apologies for continuing but this must be said. The color that "class color" is in is classified as "Silver" by the forum text editor, just FYI

OK  I'm done. I am completely fine with GREY.

Well.....just to clarify from the red class here...

AAAAAH! I have to write my extended essay about 1984 by Monday! Thanks for reminding me, NOT.

If you like 1984, go read Anthem by Ayn Rand. It's short and easy to read, but very good! :)

i know exactly what you mean. we had to read Brave New World a few weeks ago for ap lit. a lot like 1984 and a decent book

Brave New World is AWEFUL. I don't recommend it to anyone. Half way through the book it sounds as if Huxley changed his mind about what the story was supposed to be about. lol

Has anyone seen "Brazil"? It's very good and it mirrors 1984 almost perfectly, but originally.

I actually really liked Brave New World. It kinda scared me becuase it seems there might be aspects of that already!
It's non-fiction, but i'd highly recommend "Enemy at the Gates". Nothing like the movie, the movie is maybe 1% of the book.

the only reason i said it was decent was because compared to most other books we have to read in high school (think the scarlet letter or crucible or something like that) this was so much superior:topic:

I hear you, I decided to take Science fiction and short fiction honor electives instead of AP Lit this year...I didn't feel like reading the books THEY would have given me this year.

I wish I coulda had the option to take a non-failboard english class but all the ones that would fit in my schedule would have made me uncomfortable just from the other kids in the classes!

I no kidding liked brave new world, but I have to agree with btown that almost any book will look amazing next to the crucible or scarlet letter or native son. Ugh, heck- give me the canterbury tales in actual middle english, it's better than those books!
