Trivia - Only 5 US Presidents (out of 45) Later Won The Presidency - Who Were They? NO CHEATING!!!!!

9 more became president when the POTUS died in office or resigned. They don't count for this trivia question. 12 more ran for president but did not get elected. Losers! They don't count for this question either. Forget 'em!

Considering most vice presidents accept the position believing it to be a jumping off point to their own future election runs, I was kinda surprised to find out that only 5 former Veeps later ran & won the election for POTUS. If I had to guess I'd have said 10-20 or maybe more.

Who can name them?

Again, I know it's the Internet & all, but I'm asking for no cheating.

I guess LBJ didn't count because he became president after JFKs assassination before getting elected on his own. Similar with Harry S Truman, Calvin Coolidge, Teddy Roosevelt, etc.

More surprising is that 13 former vice presidents ran & lost their races for the presidency. So much for the veep getting an electoral advantage.
