Trouble emailing NROTC recruiter

I have been having trouble emailing with my recruiter. My recruiter stated that an email would be sent along with many attachments and due to the content included in the email it often gets placed in a persons spam or trash folders. He recommended that I decrease my security settings on my email to allow this email to be received. After decreasing my security settings and adding him as a contact for my email I still did not receive his email the second time he sent it (with attachments). Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve the problem. I use Gmail if that helps at all.

Did you look in your spam folder to see if it's there? Have you insured he has the correct email address?

How did your recruiter notify you it would be coming? Via email? What I’m wondering is if your email has been successfully used. Or like already stated, could he be using an incorrect address?

DS has been sending and receiving stuff fine. No problems. Including all the forms, etc. And he also uses Gmail. He has more issues with getting the application to open than anything.

I have looked in the spam folder. I know that he has the correct email address as I have received emails from him before but for some reason, this specific email is not being allowed into my email.

An email was sent to notify me that I will be receiving a second email with details about the process as well as forms and contacts in approx 5 minutes after my receiving of the initial email. I requested my recruiter send the email a second time after it failed to show up in any folder in my Gmail and still have not received it despite him telling me it would have been sent yesterday at noon.

Are you saying that he said that he has sent it and you haven’t received it and he sent it again and you haven’t received it ?

Or are you saying that he said he WILL send it, you are assuming he has sent it , and you don’t have it?

Two separate scenarios. One is that it isn’t coming through. Another is that he is busy and hasn’t actually sent it yet.

Also are you on a desktop? Or phone?

Of the first scenario, I would recommend contacting the technical help desk that’s indicated in the application. Both DS’s have used this and they are experts at this stuff and will work through it with you until it’s figured out.

If the 2nd scenario....put on your patient pants and wait, since it seems from your post this all occurred in a couple hours. People do get busy.

I will say, with DS #1, his recruiter changed 3 times, and each time he was not notified, simply left hanging and wondering what was going on (not having that experience this go around at all). So it could be something along those lines as well if you’re not having any contact with him anymore. But you need to give that some time to figure out if that’s what’s going on.

They will for sure be able to help. They will ‘open a ticket’ after you describe your issue. DS has even talked to them. Very helpful. Good luck, let us know! I’m curious why it’s not coming through!
 
I would suggest you call or visit the recruiter and discuss the issue with him or her

Also, I use Gmail. It has a "Primary" folder and also both a "Spam" and an "All mail" folder. A lot of stuff that legitimate people send me end up in "All mail." So, I constantly check both "Primary" and the "All Mail" folders.
 
just as an fyi...DS had a ton of trouble communicating with his recruiter. unanswered emails. missing emails, unreturned phone calls, changes in contacts, and then ultimately they lost half of the application materials. DS had his school administrators call the office in Pensacola to demand that they find the materials which they immediately did. its was pretty frustrating but in the end we got the scholarship
