Many threads about the DODMERB/DQ/WAIVER process on SAF, but the following sums it up pretty well --I wanted to ask if there is anything at all you can do once they turn you down medically
Bottom line, the DODMERB DQ is an objective determination that you do or don't meet the listed medical standard . Not all medical conditions are black and white, and you might be able to present additional documentation or tests to show that you meet the standard. However, if DODMERB determines you do not meet the standard, the decision to waive or not to waive is more discretionary (of course, some conditions are simply not waiverable), and is a more subjective determination that takes into account of what the candidate adds to the Brigade and fitness for duty as an Officer.A DQ is a DODMERB decision and can potentially be reversed or, more commonly, overcome by a waiver. Once USNA sends a TWE (email), that is the end of the line. It typically means a medical waiver wasn't granted
