TWE arrived today but portal not showing any change. Not holding out hope but just wondering if that is common. In case it is helpful to anyone stats are
Eagle Scout (held every leadership position Including SPL)
academic decathlon Team captain with numerous awards at county and state
boys state state assemblyman
32 ACT
Major aerospace company summer engineering internship
3.7 gpa weighted
martial arts red belt with stripe and assistant instructor, black belt next test
no team sports
fitness Test not stellar but passed as well as dodmerb no problems
nomination secured from competitive district

Things always happen for a reason so disapppointing but it’s okay.

From what I've read on the forums (and experienced) TWE with no portal update is not uncommon. DS received TWE with no portal update, however, FFR and RC confirmed it was true and correct (not part of the February glitch). It can't hurt to reach out to your RC to confirm. I'm so sorry for the disappointing news!

DS received the dreaded TWE yesterday as well. He finished his application in late November. He was granted a waiver for a DQ (color deficiency) In late December. Everything was green checks. His application was strong. Top 10% of his class, he will have a total of 11 AP classes once he graduates. His GPA did wobble a little with a C the first Semester of AP Calculus. (First C ever) He passed his CFA. It wasn’t stellar due to taking a helmet to the knee (dirty hit)in a football game. He plays baseball on top of captain of the football team. Over 245 hours of volunteer hours.

I did tell him, Doors close for a reason. Now we wait for USNA. We are still waiting on a waiver (waiting since October). The color deficiency makes the uphill battle a little tougher. But we will see. His goal is to be an officer in the Military. And luckily, there are many avenues to that ultimate goal. Our plan B is in place.

I wish the best for your DS!

I forgot to mention. His portal has not updated with this letter he got via snail mail. And it is still open.

Thank you for sharing. Interested to see what happens. I have a DS coming up in a couple years. Interested how USNA works out for your DS.

We received the dreaded TWE yesterday as well. My DD is very strong and competitive in the academics (#1 in her class since 7th grade, 4.3 gpa and 32 ACT) and leadership (too many to list) but did below average on the CFA. We were hoping for a different result as well - that the 90% would outweigh the less than stellar 10% but obviously not. We are heartbroken but are regrouping and have plans to reapply next year. If not, then she will pursue ROTC.

There will be about 2800 disappointed applicants so hopefully we will see these young men and women keep their chins up and keep working towards their dreams.

Do not give up the dream. 25-35% of a class are re-applicants. If not college as a Plan B, consider self prep at one of the prep schools discussed in these forums. Best of luck. You all seem to have bright futures.
