I received my TWE today from the Naval Academy.

As a third-year community college student, I feel like I'm stuck in the mud because I really don't have a plan B other than continuing my college course work. I went from a 2.3 GPA in high school to a 4.0 in college because I gained interest in becoming an officer in the Navy. I also gained experience working for NASA as a mechanical engineer last year. There are no words to describe how passionate I am towards my goal of becoming an officer, but I just don't know if it's worth re-applying to the Naval Academy next year when I have completed all math classes, one course away from completing the physics series, ext. I also don't even know if I can get in next year due to my bad hs grades. Do you think I should focus on getting into an NROTC program instead of spending time on another application to the Naval Academy?

Talk to your BGO about other paths to Naval service. There are multiple ways to get there not only NROTC -- and some like NUPOC start in college. You've got this.

All I know is 100% of those that don’t apply don’t get in. Don’t give up your dream. Find your path.

Will do, thank you both very much! Your input means a lot to me, especially after what happened today.

In reading many posts, I see some people that are juniors in COLLEGE and are still applying to military academies. Their goal is to get into a military academy. I read your post and you say you have "interest in becoming an officer in the Navy. "
As you know there are many other ways to be an office in the navy besides the Naval Academy. Look into them and focus on your true goal.

Have you looked at the LEAD program for enlisted? Not sure about your age, but that is another path to USNA.

You might talk to an officer recruiter. OCS may be a viable option once you've earned your degree. Also, for USNA, if there is any way you can afford to attend a 4-year college (vs. community college), that would help.

Unless you are dead set on attending USNA, I would suggest you look into Naval ROTC unit. Even if you don't get a scholarship you can probably join as a non-scholarship (ie College Program) student. Frankly, there is no disadvantage or advantage to being a USNA grad once you are in the fleet - it's all about performance there.
