DD received the highly dreaded TWE via email yesterday afternoon. Her DoDMERB portal has showed "Pending Waiver Submission/Review" for several months due to the appearance of eczema after her 12th birthday. She submitted three physicians letters testifying to how ridiculously minor (dime size, or less) her condition was. The TWE stated "Unfortunately, if you had a medical waiver pending, there will be no further review of your medical status." What does this mean??? Medically, is she out of consideration for good??? Would future re-applications be futile? (her DoDMERB status still shows the above…)

There is no way to know 100% but it is more likely that she was not that competitive for an appointment this year so they did not move her through the process.

I think that would be a very good question for admissions later in the cycle after they have completed this year's class. It seems like this would be a waiverable condition.

My understanding from reading these forums (not from personal experience) is that you can definitely apply again and if your DD is considered for appointment the medical waiver process will start up again. It's only halted for now due to the TWE - not forever.

Yes, call Admissions after the dust settles and see if you can get insight into whether DD is competitive and the condition is waiverable. Don't read anythng nto the comment about no further consideration of the medical waiver -- Admissions is not going to make a determination when it is no longer relevant.
